It’s 2009, and Friends of the Smokies’ staff is busy celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. If you have not already done so, please check out the 75th Anniversary website at www.GreatSmokies75th.org. It is a great time to visit the Park, and take part in the community events all around the Park celebrating the heritage of the Smokies.

Finding The Way

"Finding the Way"- The official print
of the 75th Anniversary.

One very exciting development this year is the release of “Finding the Way”, an artistic celebration of the 75th Anniversary of Great Smoky Mountains National Park by Smokies’ native son Robert A. Tino. Limited edition prints and giclees of “Finding the Way Home” will be sold as an official part of the 75th Anniversary celebration. Visit the gallery website for more information.

Finding The Way

"For the Permanent Enjoyment of the People" by Teresa Pennington.

We are also honored that Waynesville artist Teresa Pennington created a drawing in colored pencil to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and proceeds will benefit Friends of the Smokies. Teresa’s giclee prints of “For the Permanent Enjoyment of the People” are available through her gallery (visit her online at http://www.tpennington.com/). To order please call 828-452-9284.
