Friends of the Smokies celebrated the reopening of its North Carolina office in a new location in downtown Asheville on Feb. 28.
More than 50 community members attended. GSMNP Superintendent Cassius Cash and Management Assistant and Public Affairs Officer Dana Soehn made a surprise appearance to assist with the ribbon cutting ceremony.
FOTS founding board Member Steve Woody and Superintendent Cash made remarks to the group about the importance of park partners.
“It was exciting to celebrate the relocation of the North Carolina office and educate all of our attendees about ways to support their national park,” said Anna Zanetti, North Carolina Director.
“We are thrilled to continue growing the community of people passionate about the Smokies in Asheville and across Western North Carolina.”
The new office is located directly across from Asheville Brewing Company in Midtown Plaza at 84 Coxe Ave., Unit 200.

The ribbon cutting and open house was in partnership with the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce.
