Volunteer to help Friends of the Smokies at two upcoming fundraising events that will support the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Volunteer at Gran Fondo Asheville – Sunday, July 23
The Gran Fondo Asheville is the Friends of the Smokies’ largest fundraiser in North Carolina. The event has a great new location at New Belgium Brewery.
We need your help for this cycling event and celebration.
Sign up for a shift and you’ll get a T-shirt, lunch and a beer – – plus you’ll be supporting your national park!
Volunteers are needed for the following:
- Registration
- Finish Area
- Aid Stations
- Timing Points
- Course Control Volunteers
- Bike Corral
- Packet Pick-up (Saturday, July 22)

Volunteer at Race to the Taps – Saturday, Sept. 30
Friends of the Smokies is partnering with Mix 96.5’s Race to the Taps, and we need your help as a volunteer.
Mark your calendars to volunteer at the 5-mile race on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard, North Carolina. All volunteers receive a race T-shirt and a beer.
You can register to volunteer to help with Race to the Taps by clicking on this link. When you register, be sure to indicate that Friends of the Smokies is the non-profit that you are with.
Your volunteer efforts at both of these events will support the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
