Trillium in bloom in GSMNP

April 29, 2020

GSMNP wildflower

Here’s another edition of “Bring Spring in the Smokies to your home” with photos of wildflowers in bloom in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. All of these wildflowers are trilliums.

Did you know that GSMNP has more than 1,500 flowering plants — more than any other park in America?

You may want to challenge yourself to identify these wildflowers.

The wildflowers are numbered 11 – 15. (The trillium at the top of this post and #11 are the same trillium species.)

The names of the wildflowers are listed at the bottom of the post.

Thanks to Marielle DeJong for sharing her wildflower photos and identifying the trillium.
